Discussion among candidates in Chandigarh  

During  parliamentary elections Chandigarh always sets an example in discussion among candidates. In the region Chandigarh is the only Lok Sabha constituency where candidates of prominent parties come together on a common platform and take part in discussions usually managed by different interest groups and institutions on major issues of the City Beautiful.

 This is an ideal practice for a democratic political system and society. this is a healthy tradition. In other constituencies parties and candidates should follow this tradition. Origin of this democratic ideal lies in Panjab University students union elections where student leaders of different groups express their agenda before the voters from a common stage and express their policies for well being of students.
